ST. CYPRIAN'S PREPARATORY BOYS' SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Under the leadership of Canon Gordon Hazlewood, the School was founded in 1959 to provide elementary education for Boys. In 1986, the company, ST. CYPRIANS PREPATORYS BOYS SCHOOL INC took over the management and operations of St. Cyprian’s Preparatory Boys’ School.
The School Courses are planned not only to help boys pass the Common Entrance Examination to Secondary Schools, but also to educate them culturally, spiritually, and physically so that they may become useful citizens in the community.
SCHOOL TERMS
The school year is divided into three terms of approximately twelve (12) weeks each. The school week is from Monday to Friday inclusive. Only boys between the ages of three and a half and ten will be admitted to the School. Notice of the intention to remove a student must be given in writing to the Principal not later than three (3) months before the end of the current term. Failure to do so will result in the parents having to pay one term's fee in lieu of notice.
HOURS OF ATTENDANCE
The school hours for St. Cyprian’s Preparatory Boys’ School are: - 8.:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
HEALTH
If a student has contracted a contagious disease or has been in contact with a person suffering from any such disease, his parents or guardians must inform the Principal immediately. The student will not be allowed to return to School without a doctor's certificate.
PHYSICAL EXERCISE
Since exercise is essential to good health, no student will be excused from games without a written excuse signed by his parents or guardian.
EXCUSE FOR ABSENCE
Any student who has been absent must on his return to School bring a letter from his parents or guardian in explanation of his absence.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
All students must wear the correct School Uniform. This contains of khaki shirt and pants, long khaki socks and brown or black shoes. At all times, the dress code must be adhered to. All hairstyles MUST be short and neatly done (no exceptions). No styles, markings or untidily kept hair.
REGISTRATION FEE
A Registration fee of $500.00 is payable within thirty days of accepting a place at the School. This payment is non-refundable.
SCHOOL FEES
School Fees must be paid in advance. Tuition fees must be paid by the end of the first week of each term unless prior arrangements have been made for fees to be paid in installments. Fees can be spread over four installments provided payments are made each month. Such arrangements must be made with the Business Manager at the start of each term.

The School reserves the right to mandate payment of fees in advance from any parent who gives little or no priority to paying fees in a timely manner.
OFFICE HOURS
During school term, the office hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES
Payment of fees by cash or direct debit can be made at the School between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays only. Fees will not be accepted on Mondays or Fridays unless cheques are presented.
PAYMENT BY CHEQUES
Cheques or bank drafts payable to the School may be dropped off at the office any time during regular office hours. Returned cheques will attract a charge of $75.00.
BILL PAYMENT METHOD
Payments can be made online. It is the parent’s responsibility to forward copies of receipts for all online payments to the school by email.
BEFORE CARE SUPERVISION AND AFTER CARE PROGRAM
The school hours for St. Cyprian’s Preparatory Boys’ School are: - 8.00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for students in Kindergarten department am 8:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. for the upper school.The “before care supervision” commences at 7:15 a.m. at no additional cost to parents.
AFTER CARE PROGRAM
Students should be collected by 3:00 p.m. daily. Students will automatically be placed in Aftercare at 3:00 p.m. and a fee of $10.00 will be charged if the child is picked up on or before 4:45 p.m. Persons registered for aftercare services will pay $25:00 per week whether the position is taken up. No member of the teaching staff will be on the premises after 5:00 p.m. The school does not hold itself responsible for any student who is not picked up by 5:00 p.m. Late pick-ups can result in suspension or for the student being banned from the aftercare program.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Children participating in After school activities on the premises, such as Judo, Cubs, or any other discipline, must be picked up promptly at the end of each session. Those students not picked up within fifteen minutes after finish time, will automatically be put in the After Care and fees will be charged as outlined above.
PARKING
Parking in the school yard will be limited to a ten (10) minute window between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. If your business at the school is expected to exceed ten minutes you are requested NOT to park in the yard. There will be no parking in the school yard during regular school hours. All vehicles must be removed from the premises before 4:30 p.m. as the school gates will also be closed at 4:30 p.m.
RULES GOVERNING RE-ADMITTRANCE TO SCHOOL
It is not the policy of the School to re-admit students who were withdrawn before taking the Eleven-Plus examination. In exceptional cases, if such a situation arises, a re-admission request letter must be sent to the School. The letter must state clearly: Why the student was withdrawnWhether adequate notice was given to the School before the action was takenthe reasons for wanting to return the said student to the School. Parents must also offer compelling reasons why such students would not encounter similar problems if the child were to be re-admitted.Matters such as these are referred to the Board for direction and not decided by the Principal. A decision would be made within fourteen days on the receipt of the said request by the Board.
RULES GOVERNING USE OF PREMISES
The School building is to be used exclusively for educational purposes. Any extra-curricular activities must relate to students' participation.Rental of the building is not allowed.
The building will be closed at 6:00 p.m. daily. Surveillance cameras are in use.
SUSPENSIONS AND EXPULSIONS
The School will not tolerate any use of abusive language, whether oral or written by either students or parents. Disparaging remarks verbally or on social media will be deemed unacceptable.
DAMAGING OR DEFACING PROPERTY; STONE THROWING
Students who commit any of these offences will receive a stern reprimand for the first offence, one (1) week suspension for any repeat of such offence and expulsion for persistent use of such behaviour.
GENERAL
Students not returning to school must give a minimum of two (2) months’ notice or must pay a term's fee in lieu of notice.There is a cafeteria at the School.Swimming classes are done at the Wildey Gymnasium. The School pays for these classes.There is an all-boys choir which is conducted by professional musicians.Chess classes are conducted by The National Sports Council.· All new students are subject to a probationary period of one (1) year.
Parents and guardians are asked to co-operate with the Staff of the School in observing the above Rules.
