In 1959 Canon Gordon Hazlewood founded the St. Cyprian’s Preparatory Boys' School. The school was located on George Street, Belleville in St. Michael and opened its doors with 42 students. The School was solely owned and managed by Canon Gordon Hazlewood.
In 1985, he realized that in order for the school to continue he would need to have a formal board.
In 1986, the school was incorporated and Canon Hazlewood was appointed Chairman and Mrs. Patricia Small, the company secretary along with a board of directors.
In 1987, the School was relocated from its original site in Belleville to its current location in Brittons Hill.
From 1990, Mrs. Patricia Small has been the driving force and backbone of the school as Chairperson but affectionately called “Madam Chairman”.
The school has always been a non for profit organization and has a long and proud history of providing an exceptional education to students while remaining true to our core values.
