Dave Layne, Principal
Dave Layne joined St. Cyprian's Boys' School in 2000 and has been the Principal since 2006.
Kevin Hurdle, Deputy Principal & Form 4 Teacher

A proud member of the St. Cyprian’s family for almost a decade. Mr. Hurdle is driven by his passion for the language arts and the comprehensive development of the students who enter his care during the final phase of their journey through primary school. He believes in a disciplined, diligent approach, seeking to embody the elements of our motto “Sure and Steady; Must Succeed."

Kelly-Ann Layne-Hurdle, Administrative Manager

Mrs. Layne-Hurdle is very passionate about the education of young children. She taught at the preschool level for two years before joining the St. Cyprian’s Boys School staff in 2011 where she taught Kindergarten 2. Mrs. Layne-Hurdle holds a Bachelor of Education degree with first class honours from the University of the West Indies as well as certificates in Early Childhood Education and Classroom Management from the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College. She currently occupies the post of Administrator.
Ms. Ebony Barrow, Senior Teacher
MEd (Dist), BSc (Hons), Dip SpEd
Ms. Barrow joined St. Cyprian's Boys' in September 2006. She currently teaches Form 3 and aims to provide exciting and engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students. Driven by an unwavering commitment to education, she is fervently dedicated to empowering students with exceptionalities to unleash their full potential and thrive.
Ms. Barrow holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with Psychology, a Master of Education in The Psychology of Education, a Diploma in Special Education, along with certificates in Strategies for Teaching Mathematics in Primary Schools, SEL for Students, Diversity & Inclusion in Education and Child Care and Nursery Management.
In her capacity as teacher, she plans the annual school fair, graduation and prize giving ceremonies. She also assists the coach with the preparation of the athletic team for the annual National Primary School's Athletic Championships.
Outside of school, Ms. Barrow is one of the few professional female stilt- walkers on the island, a stilt-walking tutor and a netballer. She also plays an active role in her community, holding management and mentorship positions in a community-based netball team.
Nateisha Brathwaite, Kindergarten Teacher
B.Ed. (Hons)
Ms. Brathwaite has ten years of working experience in the field of early childhood education. She possesses a nurturing and pleasant disposition which lends to improved academic performance and personal development amongst her students. She joined the staff in 2014. She currently teaches Kindergarten 2B.
Ms. Brathwaite holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies.
Ramon Greaves, Physical Education Teacher

Mr. Greaves has been teaching Health and Physical Education for fourteen years, twelve of which have been at the St. Cyprian’s Boys’ School. He holds an Associate Degree in Physical Education and he is Erdiston trained. He also has a FIFA coaching license and a WICB child protection certificate.
Ricardo Watson, Form 1 Teacher and Head of Music Dept
Mr. Ricardo Watson is a multi-instrumentalist who enjoys performing, teaching and sharing his knowledge with whoever he comes into contact with. He started playing the piano from age four and then at eleven he learnt the saxophone, bass guitar, steel pan and the drums. He taught music privately in Barbados for over 7 years. Mr. Watson was the past organist and chorale director for St. Thomas Parish Church and St. Philip The Less Anglican Church. He joined the staff in 2017. (Teacher Form 1W)
He is a 2008 recipient of the Irving Burgie Award for Excellence in Literary and Creative Arts, has achieved Grade 6 Trinity College Classical Saxophone (Merit), and Grade 5 ABRSM Theory. He holds an Associate Degree in Music from the Barbados Community College. Mr. Watson is currently pursuing his Bachelors in Arts and Entertainment Management.
Randy Harris, Kindergarten Teacher & Music Teacher
Randy Harris is a dedicated teacher, producer, songwriter, and musician. He currently teaches Kindergarten 4H and is the choir director of the NIFCA Gold award-winning Cyptones.
Mr. Harris joined the staff in 2014. His love for music began with the steel pan at the tender age of seven. He later learned how to play the keyboard at age nine and the guitar at age fourteen. His singing career began with the St. Leonard’s 100 Boys’ Choir. During this time, he obtained Grades 4, 6, and Grade 8 in classical vocals with the Trinity Guildhall College of Music. Mr. Harris also has Associate Degrees in Music, Italian and Spanish for Business and Tourism from the Barbados Community College.
He is currently the organist and musical director for the Dalkeith Methodist Church and sings with many well-known artists across the island. His ethos is to always aim higher than you can reach. Growth is inevitable.
Don Licorish, Kindergarten Teacher
Guided by God's will, Don Licorish actively pursued the opportunity to teach at St. Cyprian’s Boy's School. Outside of the curriculum, he understands how important it is to instill values at this level. He attained his bachelor’s degree in Management with honours and asked God, His will for his life. This then prompted him to pursue early childhood education at Erdiston Teacher's Training College. Finishing at the top of his class, his ultimate goal is to equip each boy with the necessary knowledge, values and skills to become successful men.
Raynel Harris, Kindergarten Teacher
Raynel Harris is a foreign language enthusiast and an avid baker in her free time. She is a graduate of the Barbados Community College and has an educational background in Law and Italian for business and tourism.
Relatively new to the staff at St Cyprian's Boys' she is currently working with the Kindergarten 1 Class. Ms. Harris considers it a privilege to help facilitate the students’ learning and academic growth, while also gaining experience in transforming teaching methods to better suit children's curricular interests. Her hope is to impact students to have a positive outlook on learning.
Kevon Squires, Form 2 Teacher & Aftercare
With experience teaching in the ‘A-Ganar’ and the Sport For Life programmes for several years, Mr. Kevon Squires is a passionate, creative, empathetic and dedicated teacher. He joined the school in 2021 and has never looked back. Having studied for and attained an Associate degree in Mass Communication from the Barbados Community College, he also possesses a Bachelors degree in Literatures in English from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill. He has also attended the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College where he excelled in the Classroom Management programme.
Mr. Squires also has a passion for drawing, story writing and poetry: the latter having allowed him to win several prizes in NIFCA as a teenager, such as the “Most Promising Junior” and several gold, silver and bronze medals.
An energetic and helpful individual, he also enjoys time outside the classroom, assisting in the Afterschool and Aftercare programmes as well as the school's Cub Scout programme, where he is an Assistant Scout leader. He also has experience assisting in teaching at the Barbados Shotokan Karate Club for close to a decade, where he attained the rank of a Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) before seeking to pursue new frontiers. These experiences have granted him a wealth of knowledge and skills to call upon when teaching his students as their education and personal development are his number one priority.
Valerie Sandiford, Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Sandiford joined the St. Cyprian’s Boys’ School staff in 1986. She studied Child Psychology at U.W.I and holds certification in Early Childhood from Polk Community College Florida. Mrs. Sandiford loves her job as a teacher and finds pleasure working with her students.

A former Banker, Mr. Winslow Straker was Head Boy and captain of the cricket, football, athletic team while at The St. Michael School. He is currently attached to the Physical Ed. department and coordinates the After Care Program.

Mr. Ian Grant is head of the Maintenance Team. His untiring work ensures that the School is always neat and tidy.
